How Social Media and the Internet has affected the Sports Industry

Hi there! Peyton here! Today I am discussing how the internet and social media have affected the sports industry! As always share your opinion!       The internet has influenced most of our lives. I am going to be discussing how the internet has influenced the sports industry. The internet has massively affected the sports industry by allowing more and more people to not only watch sports but also keep up with the details of athletes' lives.            Because of the fact that sports have been so publicized on the internet, this has created an entirely new career. Now the need for broadcasting sporting events has created jobs, such as camera operators, behind-the-scenes production crews, hosts, sideline reporters, and sports journalists. Because sports is a source of entertainment all over the world there are endless jobs that can be associated with it. The internet has made the sports industry what it is.       ...

Advice for Sorority Recruitment!

Image
Hi there! Peyton here! Here is my best advice for ladies going through sorority recruitment! As always share your opinions!     Sorority recruitment can be a scary time. There are so many emotions and feelings and many people skip out on sorority  recruitment out of fear but (spoiler alert,) it's not even that bad! Greek life isn't for everyone and that's okay! (#1) But if you are considering it, my first piece of advice is to do it ! Even if you end up hating it, at least you tried! Also, you can drop at any time!     (#2) BE YOURSELF ! Never pretend to be someone you aren't because you might get into a sorority and realize that it's not the right fit for who you really are!     (#3) Trust the process . You will hear this a lot during recruitment but it's true. You might get dropped from your #1 choice and feel so defeated but just keep going. I actually got dropped from my #1 choice (at the time) and I was so upset and almost dropped out o...

Essential Guide to College!

Image
Hi there! Peyton here! Here is my essential guide to college. College is so exciting but also very intimidating and scary! In this blog, I am going to try and ease your fears by preparing you the best I can! As always share your opinion!    (#1) College can be so intimidating and scary! But I am here to tell you all things that I was I knew before going to college and hopefully, I can help someone out there! The first thing I wish I knew before college was to attend any freshman camp that your school is providing! At Tarleton, it's called duck camp and at A&M it's called fish camp! These are so important because you learn so much information and make a lot of friends! It can be helpful to have familiar faces on move-in day! I didn't go to duck camp and I regretted it so much.      (#2) My next piece of advice would be to get out there and meet people. Whether it's making conversation with a classmate or going greek or joining a student organization, whatever...

My Most Important Life Lesson!

Image
Hi there! Peyton here! In this blog, I am explaining my most valuable life lesson! Please share your most important life lesson!      Prioritize your mental health above everything! Something that I heard years ago that has always stuck with me is: "no one can make you happy if you cannot make yourself happy." Happiness comes within. If you are not taking care of yourself, how are you going to take care of all of your responsibilities? When I first got my fur baby, Bonnie, I dropped everything to take care of her. Everything in my life shifted and she was my first priority. Instead of teaching her to adapt to my lifestyle, I adapted to hers.      The love I had and have for this dog is more than I can ever explain. She came into my life at a time when I needed her and has truly helped me become a happier person. But in the beginning, it felt like my entire life changed. I wasn't able to do whatever I wanted because I had a dog to take care of. Bonnie ...
