Advice for Sorority Recruitment!

Image
Hi there! Peyton here! Here is my best advice for ladies going through sorority recruitment! As always share your opinions!     Sorority recruitment can be a scary time. There are so many emotions and feelings and many people skip out on sorority  recruitment out of fear but (spoiler alert,) it's not even that bad! Greek life isn't for everyone and that's okay! (#1) But if you are considering it, my first piece of advice is to do it ! Even if you end up hating it, at least you tried! Also, you can drop at any time!     (#2) BE YOURSELF ! Never pretend to be someone you aren't because you might get into a sorority and realize that it's not the right fit for who you really are!     (#3) Trust the process . You will hear this a lot during recruitment but it's true. You might get dropped from your #1 choice and feel so defeated but just keep going. I actually got dropped from my #1 choice (at the time) and I was so upset and almost dropped out o...

Gyms were closed, we were all eating and laying in bed too much and I decided that I wanted to be able to start a gym routine from home. Aaptiv has hundreds of workouts with many different intensities ranging from beginner to intermediate to expert all with different workout lengths and styles. Aaptiv currently has 15 different workout categories which include; treadmill, strength training, outdoor running, sleep, walking, stretching, pilates, meditation, elliptical, yoga, indoor cycling, barre, stair climbing, boxing, and rowing.  Aaptiv also has many different trai...

Compare and contrast some of the positive and negative effects of social media.

Compare and contrast some of the positive and negative effects of social media. Social media has become quite controversial. Undoubtedly, social media negatively affects users' mental health, body image, self-worth, and overall health. Social media can be extremely draining. I struggle with posting on social media because I fear what people will think of my posts or that I'm posting too much or not enough. I also find myself comparing myself to other people on social media. But social media has also done a lot of good. Social media has allowed people to become more educated on topics, has allowed people to have a space to share their opinions or experiences, has allowed people to keep celebrities or public officials accountable, has allowed information to be available to the public quicker, etc.  According to Hawra Hashem, in the article “13 Positive Effects of Social Media on Our Society Today,” there are many positive effects we see from social media. Those effects include...

Hi there! Peyton here! Here is my essential guide to college. College is so exciting but also very intimidating and scary! In this blog, I am going to try and ease your fears by preparing you the best I can! As always share your opinion!    (#1) College can be so intimidating and scary! But I am here to tell you all things that I was I knew before going to college and hopefully, I can help someone out there! The first thing I wish I knew before college was to attend any freshman camp that your school is providing! At Tarleton, it's called duck camp and at A&M it's called fish camp! These are so important because you learn so much information and make a lot of friends! It can be helpful to have familiar faces on move-in day! I didn't go to duck camp and I regretted it so much.      (#2) My next piece of advice would be to get out there and meet people. Whether it's making conversation with a classmate or going greek or joining a student organization, whatever...
